Ghostly Hand Appears In Woman’s Selfie

Ghostly Hand Appears In Woman’s Selfie « Pat Dollard

Excerpted from DAILY MAIL: Peaches Geldof might want to give Derek Acorah a call, because it looks like she’s got a ghost that needs hunting.

The socialite shared a photo of herself and son Astala in the bath, but mysteriously a translucent hand of what could be a ghost can be seen just above her shoulder.
Peaches, 24, posted the spooky selfie on Instagram, and believes the hand belongs to the spirit of a woman who committed suicide 100 years ago after delivering a stillborn baby.

Geldof – who lives in the property in Kent, South East England, with her husband Thomas Cohen, Astala, and their other son, eight-month-old Phaedra – said: ‘The house was built in the 1920s by a rich man and his pregnant wife. However, his wife had a stillborn baby and was so grief-stricken she went mad. She apparently drowned herself in the bath.’

She added: ‘The presence I feel isn’t malignant or angry, rather maternal and friendly – the house has a lovely atmosphere.

‘Maybe she’s just making her presence known because she loves having babies around.’

Peaches has started to leave her door open when she sleeps at night in case the “ghost comes back”.
The daughter of Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates – decided to investigate the history of the house after posting the spooky snap on her Instagram account accompanied with the caption: ‘Close up shot of the mystery ghost hand in pic I took of Astala and me in the bath. Keep Reading

Second World War dispatches detailing the last hours of Pink Floyd star Roger Waters’ soldier dad have been found by a veteran of the Italy campaign.
Royal Fusiliers 2nd lieutenant Eric Waters died in the first beach landing at Anzio on February 18, 1944.
Son Roger – now 70 but just five months old when his father, 31, was killed – paid an emotional visit this year to the battlefield where thousands of Allied troops fell.
War diaries about Lt Waters and heroes of Z company were unearthed at the National Archives, London, by Harry Shindler, 93, head of the Italy Star Association for ex-soldiers.
An 11.15am entry reads: “Z coy reported enemy all round their positions, very stiff fighting.”
Just 15 minutes later the final report says: “Lt Waters killed, situation now critical. Assistance would now be too late.”
Lt Waters’ body was not found but his name is on a memorial in the nearby Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery.
Roger’s song When The Tigers Broke Free was a tribute to his dad and appeared in the film The Wall – about a rock star mentally scarred by the loss of his father in the war.

Creative Costumes of Still-Practiced Pagan Rituals of Europe (19 pics) | Bored Panda

Now these are not your average Halloween costumes. For two years, French photographer Charles Fréger has been traveling throughout 19 European countries and trying to capture the spirit of what he calls “tribal Europe” in his “Wilder Mann” series. What he found was a huge array of pagan rituals, mainly related to the winter solstice and spring renewal, focusing on the common myth of the “wild man.”
It appears that the tradition of men dressing up as wild animals and monsters, which dates back to neolithic times and shamanism, is still very alive nowadays. The mythological figure of a “wild man” represents the complicated relationship humans have with nature and life and death cycles. His series explores the different interpretations of such figures – while some cultures depict him as covered in flowers or straws, others possess the features of bears, goats, or horned and hairy beasts.

After Nicolas Cage 'vampire' pic, now pic of 'John Travolta in 1860′ appears | Metro News

The Church of Scientology advocates the idea of past lives and, as an avid member, John Travolta may be interested to discover that a man is selling a photo taken in 1860 which he claims is of the Hollywood actor.
After Nicolas Cage ‘vampire’ pic, now pic of ‘John Travolta in 1860′ appears
The man in the photo from 1860 has a slight resemblance to John Travolta (Picture: eBay)
The seller is asking for $50,000 for the ruby glass ambrotype photograph, which he says could be proof that John Travolta has been ‘reincarnated’ (not into a new being but an identical body, presumably).
‘I believe this is the photograph of a very young John Travolta taken around 1860,’ said the eBay seller.

The seller has listed the photo on eBay with a Buy It Now price of $50,000 (Picture: eBay)
‘Of course, time travel can’t be ruled out as well.’
The seller, from Ontario, Canada, claims the man in his picture has ‘identical’ eyes and hairline to Travolta, as well as his ‘very unique trademark chin’.
‘It hasn’t been changed, tampered with or altered in anyway. It is clear and is as nice as the day it was taken roughly 151 years ago,’ he said in the description listed on the auction site.

Keen to prove he is not selling the dubious photo purely for financial gain, the seller is generously offering free shipping and gift wrapping to anyone who is willing to stump of tens of thousands of dollars.
Earlier this month an eBay seller listed a photo of a Nicolas Cage lookalike from 1870 , which he said may have been proof that the actor was a vampire.

Genetic 'Adam' and 'Eve' uncovered | Fox News

Almost every man alive can trace his origins to one man who lived about 135,000 years ago, new research suggests. And that ancient man likely shared the planet with the mother of all women.
The findings, detailed Thursday, Aug. 1, in the journal Science, come from the most complete analysis of the male sex chromosome, or the Y chromosome, to date. The results overturn earlier research, which suggested that men's most recent common ancestor lived just 50,000 to 60,000 years ago.
Despite their overlap in time, ancient "Adam" and ancient "Eve" probably didn't even live near each other, let alone mate. [The 10 Biggest Mysteries of the First Humans]
